The newest version of Devon’s Tread 1 is the Tread 1G – 'G' standing for 'gold'. The case combines both 18k yellow gold and black DLC (diamond like carbon) coated steel. This is perhaps the first two-tone Tread 1 watch and the first that uses gold that will be produced in any numbers. Yellow gold is used for the crown, strap buckle and for various pieces inside of the movement. Some of the movement elements cannot be produced in gold and are toned using a PVD application to match the yellow gold colour, resulting in a unique look that combines a luxury feel with the experience of one of the most interesting wearable gadgets around. This special Tread 1G model will be produced on order only – meaning that Devon will not produce any 1G watches unless a customer specifically requests one. The build time is approximately two months.
